As a soon-to-be PhD in cognitive science, I'm really glad you posted job listings. Even if I weren't actively looking for a job, this kind of thing helps inform me of what direction research is taking, and that's always interesting. So thanks.

Hi Silia,

Sorry to send you into a fit of pique. However, posting decision making job announcements is, and always has been, one of the primary purposes of this site.

Please know that the following comment is meant to support your site and not deride it.

I just subscribed last week because I was impressed by the quality content of your site. Imagine my disappointment and pique when -while eagerly anticipating educational & informative content- the first email I receive is 100% advertisiments.

I do not have a PHD nor am I studying for one nor am I looking for a job: you have every right to email whatever content you wish but in this age of transparent practices being de riguer, please do not misrepresent subscription benefits. I subscribed to a newsletter not a classifieds section.

If your ads were at the bottom or the margin of an email featuring editorial content at least as voluminous as the ads, I would not mind. But ads ONLY? Your decision to send such an email somewhat erodes your decision science gravitas.

But, I've started businesses before and I've made mistakes so I am not cancelling my subscription based on this initial incident.

Best regards,
